The Heart Behind Another Choice UK

Letters from My Students

For 18 years, I had the privilege of working with thousands of young people.

When I left teaching, many of them gave me cards and letters. I kept every one of them.

These weren't written for a website, a business or a recommendation. They were written because a young person wanted me to know how they felt before we said goodbye.

As I began building Another Choice UK, I realised these messages tell a story far better than I ever could. They are a reminder that behind every safeguarding conversation, every workshop and every intervention is a young person who simply wants to be heard, understood and believed.

Every card on this page has been shared with permission. Together, they represent the heart behind Another Choice UK and the reason this work continues today.

When I left teaching, Aurzala gave me permission to share part of the card she wrote to me. Her words remind me why relationships matter and why every young person deserves to feel heard, supported and believed.

"You had a huge impact on my life not just because you helped me but because of how powerful and kind and sweet you are. You have shown me what it means to be someone others rely on, and that's just the kind of person I want to because of you. You didn't just do your job you had a heart for students, you supported students, and you made me feel safe, seen and heard and that I wasn't alone with my emotions. You were my safe place, I really can't thank you enough".
